Owning Your Online Brand is a Must

So I’ve been a broken record about this “Owning Your Online Brand” issue. The reality is, I’m even writing a book about it. Why am I so passionate about this? It’s because I am contacted daily by prospective clients who have been negatively impacted by their negative search results.

If you are not actively taking control of how you appear on Google Search results, then you are opening yourself up for the possibility of major damage control in the future. All it takes is one unsatisfied customer, one angry ex-friend or ex-employee or just some troll who decided that you are their next victim.

Take a moment to Google your name and your business name and look at the results. You should own your first page of results. If you do not, then make sure you sign up for the top 15 social networks today.

Important Tip: Remember to fill out as much information as you can. The more you fill out the info, the higher impact it has on how Google and other Search Engines view your profile.

I will win the arthritis war

I generally don’t make personal posts on my blog, but that’s about to change today. I am 40, and I have arthritis. I have suffered from it since my late twenties and it just continues to get worse. Some days are really intense where I can’t even move my joints for the first 30 minutes of my day. Those days I have to force myself to get out of bed and face the world.

This is not a woe-is-me post, since I don’t consider it a life altering or highly negative thing. It is what it is. I live my life in a grateful way and know how truly blessed I am in my career, in my marriage and with my children.

This is, however, a kick-in-the-butt post to remind myself that I am in control of this. I can control my arthritis by how I eat and my exercise routine, both of which I have neglected for way too long.

So I’m publicly putting this out there for accountability, so that the folks who read this can ask me how I’m doing with my nutrition and exercise when they see me.

In the meantime, I’m going to pull myself together today, take a nice long walk in beautiful Southern California and take in those gorgeous mountains.

Connect with other women and be inspired

I had an amazing time today a the CCIC Las Vegas 2015 event. I presented a training session on Owning Your Online Brand through ORM, which the online marketing geek in me loved. More importantly, I got to spend time with a wonderful and completely welcoming group of women. My wish for every woman I have ever met, known, and or networked with is that they feel as great as I did today.

Chicks Connect is a mastermind group for women, which celebrates and connects you with other women on a personal as well as professional level. The part that truly stands out for me is the “personal” part. I have gone to countless networking groups and events, and the professional connections have been great, but I LOVE the fact that Chicks Connect focuses on your spirit.
